Duties of Lead Data / Platform Engineer

Lead a technical team that supports innovation, learning, and collaboration.
Ensure the team follows the highest technical standards.
Support Agile methods to deliver high-value outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
Lead an outstanding Agile technical team.
Build data pipelines and data lakes.
Deliver quality software.
Collaborate with risk, security, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) and industry standards related to data privacy and security.
Understand overlapping technical requirements across teams and help build technology roadmaps.
Codebase ownership.
Technical application ownership.
Qualifications
Strong experience with DevOps and IaC tooling, including Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Jenkins.
Strong experience developing on Apache Spark and Hadoop.
Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including (but not limited to) AWS Glue, S3, and Step Functions.
Strong experience building data pipelines and data lakes.
Experience with the full development lifecycle and application lifecycle management tools such as Bitbucket and Jira.
Significant experience programming in Scala or Python.
Configuration as code principles and API integration experience.
Ability to explain solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to write clean, scalable, and reusable code implementing SOLID principles and common design patterns, adhering to published coding standards.
Ability to analyse, investigate, and compare large data sets when required.
Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and Lake Formation.
Experience with automated testing methodologies.
